How to Play
Run the Table takes about three minutes a game. Here is everything you need to know.
Start a gameThe basics
- Tap Spin. You get a random NFL team and decade.
- Pick one player from that team and era. Players are shown with their position and season. Ratings stay hidden, and the best players are near the top of the list, with the five best shuffled so you can't just tap the first name.
- Fill six slots: QB, RB, WR, TE, FLEX and DEF. FLEX can be an RB, WR or TE. Each round fills one slot, so think about where a great player helps you most.
- Watch your season. After the sixth pick the 17 games play out one week at a time.
Rerolls
If a draw looks weak you can reroll the team or the era. You get one free reroll of each kind per game. After that, you can watch an optional ad for another one when ads are switched on. Rerolls have no cash value.
How the season is decided
Your six ratings are averaged. The higher the average, the better your chance of winning each of the 17 games, with a small amount of luck on top. A roster of all-time greats can still lose a game, but a strong roster is very likely to finish with a great record. The result is generated on our servers when you make your final pick, which keeps the leaderboards honest. If you are offline the season still plays, but it is marked unranked.
Game modes
| Mode | What it is |
|---|---|
| Classic | The core game: six spins, six picks, one season. |
| Daily Challenge | Everyone gets the same six draws each day. One official result a day, and it counts toward your streak. It resets at midnight Eastern. |
| Beat This Team | Each week a featured historical team is the target. You get one official attempt a week to beat it. |
| 1V1 | Draft a roster and compare your record against another player's. |
| Challenge | Draft a roster, get a short code, and send it to a friend so they can try to beat you. |
| Leagues | Create or join a private league with a code to keep a leaderboard just for your group. |
Streaks and the weekly spotlight
Finish the Daily Challenge on consecutive days to build a streak. Each week you get one free streak freeze, so missing a single day does not end it. Each week a spotlight team and era is featured: draft someone from it and you bank a free reroll for a later game.
Collection and levels
- Every card on your roster joins your collection when a season finishes, and your best record with each card is remembered.
- Cards have rarities by rating: Common, Uncommon (80+), Rare (88+), Epic (93+) and Legendary (97+).
- Each team and era has three headliner cards, its three best. Collect all three to complete the set and earn bonus XP. Headliners stay hidden until you draft them.
- You earn XP for playing, for wins, for perfect seasons and for new cards. Levels run from Rookie through Starter, Pro Bowler, All-Pro and MVP to Hall of Famer and Legend.
Tips
- Every slot counts the same, so one weak pick drags your average down. If a draw has nothing good for your open slots, a reroll is worth using.
- Know your eras. A 1970s defense or a 2000s quarterback may be better than their name suggests.
- Rerolls are limited, so save them for a draw where nothing fits an open slot.
- Look at the Best Pick and Weakest Link on the result screen to see where your roster can improve.
